Encaustic with copper, found objects and concrete on wood.
Encaustic painting is the process of painting with a molten encaustic medium mixed with pigments. Each of the many multiple layers are fused to the previous with heat, my preference being a blow torch. Encaustic medium is made pure beeswax mixed with Damar resin, a sap from trees in Indonesia and Malaysia.
Originally from Toronto, with a background in the fashion industry, I currently live in the city of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Combining a life-long love for photography and art, I explore my passions through landscape, nature, aerial and aviation photography.
